Description
Dutch Windmill and tulips, 2006. Standing at the foot of Golden Gate Park since 1902 is the Dutch or north windmill, built to pump water to the sprinkler systems. After the advent of electrical pumps however, use of the windmills was discontinued and both the Dutch and Murphy which stands to the south fell into disrepair until restoration began in the 1980's.
