Cascading Creek, 2008. On my way back from skiing at a local ski resort in the Cascades, I stopped for a few minutes at small state park to rest for a minute and to capture this creek. I had first shot it about three years earlier in the summer, but lost all my work in a computer crash. I think the winter shots though came out much better than the first try.

I was born and raised in Southern California and spent my life on the West Coast. In 2002 I became the third generation of my family to live in Washington after moving from San Francisco. I've been taking pictures since my childhood starting with a pin hole camera I made from a National Geographic World. Growing up, my family and I took yearly vacations, and like a lot of kids, I usually wound up posing for photos. It was my father's enthusiasm and love for photography though that inspired me as a child and continues to inspire me today. For a number of years, photography was merely a hobby until a trip I took with friends to New Orleans in 2004. Thanks again for the comments. I'm glad you like this. Capturing the flow of a creek gives me that sense of being able to stop time, for even the briefest moment, so waterfalls and creeks are always a favorite of mine to shoot.
