Artist's Description
In My Father's House, 2004. Once in awhile, if I come across a tomb with a gate, I also find statues or stained glass windows of such beauty that I try to capture them on camera. Sometimes it's too dark and I don't get a lot of detail. Other times such as this with the brightness of the sun at my back, not only do I get enough light to bring the interior into view, I get enough to bring out the details of the stained glass like this with it's quote from John 14:2 "In my fathers house are many rooms" which gave me the title of this picture.

I was born and raised in Southern California and spent my life on the West Coast. In 2002 I became the third generation of my family to live in Washington after moving from San Francisco. I've been taking pictures since my childhood starting with a pin hole camera I made from a National Geographic World. Growing up, my family and I took yearly vacations, and like a lot of kids, I usually wound up posing for photos. It was my father's enthusiasm and love for photography though that inspired me as a child and continues to inspire me today. For a number of years, photography was merely a hobby until a trip I took with friends to New Orleans in 2004.
