Old School House in a field, 2009. Up the coast from San Luis Obispo, is the town of San Simeon. Most people know it was the home of William Randolph Hearst and every year thousands come to see his magnificent castle and it's treasures. Thank you! The schoolhouse is in San Simeon, just below Hearst Castle. The area has a very special connection to me as my mother was a docent at the Castle for a number of years and W.R Hearst beach just down from the school was where we cast her ashes after she passed in 2009.
